Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, made by pressing dried coconut meat, called copra, or fresh coconut meat. Coconut oil aids in preventing high blood pressure, protects the liver, helps to reduce inflammation and arthritis, and boosts the immune system (antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral). Coconut oil is also commonly used for benefiting hair care, specifically for dandruff or dry hair.

Calendula Infused Apricot Oil, coming from the calendula, is an annual, herbaceous plant that naturally grows around western Europe, southeastern Asia and the Mediterranean. It’s a common plant in home gardens today, as it is the same species as marigolds and is often called by the alternative name pot marigold. The bright yellow to deep orange flowers contain high levels of antioxidants in the form of carotenoids and flavonoids, as well as lutein and beta-carotene, which the body converts into vitamin A. It also has fatty acids, with the two dominant fatty acids being calendic and linoleic acids. Additionally, the flower heads are rich in oxygenated oils like monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes. Aside from the usages listed above, calendula can also be used to help relieve wound and ulcer pain, may discourage cancer, and also has strong antimicrobial and antiviral properties.

Shea Butter is a substance commonly used in cosmetic and natural skin care products. It comes from the shea tree, Butyrospermum parkii, also called Vitellaria paradoxa. Considered a sacred tree, the shea tree is native to Central Africa. Shea butter helps to retain the skin’s natural moisture and has anti-inflammatory properties. It helps to moisturize both the scalp and hair while also relieving windburn, sunburn and winter dry skin.

Cocoa butter, sometimes called theobroma oil, is a natural meltable oil extracted from the cocoa bean. Real cocoa butter is completely edible and has a faint taste and smell similar to dark chocolate. Cocoa butter is often used to prevent skin dryness and peeling, as well as help heal chapped lips and fight signs of aging. Cocoa butter also helps to soothe burns, rashes and infections, treat mouth sores, and is also a great shaving cream.

Beeswax has been used in medicine for thousands of years. It helps to moisturize skin, protect the liver, balance cholesterol levels, and relieve pain with it’s anti-inflammatory properties. Beeswax is one of the most well-known remedies for acne. It’s also an excellent skin softener and is commonly used to treat dry, cracked lips.

Activated Charcoal is a potent natural treatment used to trap toxins and chemicals in the body, allowing them to be flushed out so the body doesn’t reabsorb them. It is often used to whiten teeth, help to alleviate gas and bloating, in water filtration, and as an emergency toxin removal. Externally, it is effective at treating body odor and acne, along with relieving discomfort from insect bites, rashes from poison ivy or poison oak, and snake bites.

Bentonite Clay, also called Montmorillonite clay is used to help naturally improve one’s skin health, detoxify their bodies, and improve digestion. Bentonite clay is composed of ash taken from volcanoes mixed with water to form a thick paste. It helps to expel toxins and heavy metals and has antibacterial properties that help it to fight off various pathogens responsible for disease. Bentonite clay supports skin health, aids in digestion, boosts immunity by killing harmful bacteria and viruses, and helps to improve the health of teeth and gums.

Honey, one of nature’s purest foods, is more than just a natural sweetener. Honey can help to counter pollen allergies, based on a concept called immunotherapy. Honey is also considered a natural energy source and an antioxidant powerhouse. It is typically used to aid in healing wounds as well.

Oregano oil, made from the oregano herb, has been used for a very long time in traditional medicine for treating colds, indigestion and upset stomachs. Oregano oil is also commonly used to treat toenail fungus, ringworm and athlete's foot, and treating gingivitis.

DIRECTIONS: Apply to desired area of the skin. Cover with a cloth or bandage, as this salve will stain fabrics. As a natural product, consistency and aroma may vary. Keep away from eyes and out of the reach of children.

As is the case with taking any supplement while you are pregnant or breastfeeding or taking medication, you should always consult your healthcare professional prior to usage.
