One of the most storied bitter herbs in traditional Western herbalism, Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) has been used for centuries as part of traditional digestive and cleansing wellness practices. Our Wormwood Tincture is crafted from pure, wild-crafted Wormwood, preserved in organic grain alcohol with nothing else added. As one of the most potent botanicals in traditional herbal practice, Wormwood is intended for short-term, mindful use as part of a broader wellness routine, not for everyday long-term consumption.
Herbal Ingredient

Pure Wild-Crafted Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium)
A perennial herb with deep silver-green leaves and a famously bitter taste, Wormwood has a long traditional history of use in Western and European herbalism as a digestive bitter, traditionally taken before meals to stimulate the body's natural digestive secretions. It is also one of the most well-known botanicals in traditional cleansing formulas, often used alongside companion herbs such as Black Walnut Hull and Clove as part of a traditional, time-limited herbal cleansing routine.
How to Use
Recommended Dosage: Take 10-20 drops (about half a dropperful) in juice or water, 1 to 3 times daily, taken with or before meals. Shake well before use.
Duration of Use: Wormwood is traditionally used for short, defined periods rather than continuously. Most traditional protocols limit use to no more than 2 to 4 weeks at a time, followed by a break before resuming if desired. This product is not intended for continuous, indefinite daily use.
Traditional Wellness Uses
- Digestive Bitter — Like other classic bitter herbs, Wormwood has traditionally been taken before meals to stimulate digestive secretions and support the body's natural digestive process.
- Traditional Cleansing Support — Wormwood is one of the most recognized botanicals in traditional herbal cleansing practice, often combined with companion herbs as part of a time-limited cleansing routine.
- Bitter Herb Tradition — A foundational herb in the broader category of "bitters" used across Western herbal traditions to support overall digestive wellness.

- Do not exceed the recommended dosage. High doses of Wormwood have been associated with central nervous system effects, including confusion, disorientation, tremors, and in rare and severe cases, seizures.
- Limit duration of use. Traditional and modern sources consistently recommend a maximum of 2 to 4 consecutive weeks of use, followed by a break, rather than continuous daily use.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) is considered unsafe during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It may cause uterine contractions, bleeding, and miscarriage, based on animal studies.
- Epilepsy or seizure disorders: Wormwood may increase the risk of seizures and may reduce the effectiveness of some anti-seizure medications, given thujone's documented effect on GABA receptors in the brain.
- Kidney disease: Wormwood may be toxic to the kidneys and could contribute to kidney failure, particularly in those with existing chronic kidney disease.
- Allergies: Wormwood belongs to the Asteraceae (daisy) family. If you are allergic to related plants such as ragweed, marigolds, or asters, avoid this product.
- Heart disease and blood thinners: If you take warfarin (Coumadin) or other blood-thinning medication, Wormwood may increase the effects of the medication and the risk of bleeding.
- Hyperacidity or peptic ulcers: Wormwood may increase stomach acid production and is not recommended for those with these conditions.
