Yellow dock, also known as Rumex crispus, is a perennial flowering plant native to Europe and Western Asia. It produces a flower stalk that can grow up to 5 feet tall with smooth leaves shooting off from a large basal rosette with distinctive curled edges. On the stalk, flowers and seeds are produced in clusters on branched stems with the largest cluster being found at the apex. Due to its high level of iron, the root of yellow dock is often used for treating anemia. Yellow dock is also often used as a mild laxative due to the presence of anthraquinone glycosides.
